WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has admitted that the upcoming wrestling return of Ricky ‘The Dragon’ Steamboat makes him want to step into the ring once again.

Ric Flair returned to the ring for his last match on July 31, teaming up with Andrade El Idolo to defeat Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal.

Before the announcement of Flair’s opponents, some had speculated that Flair would face Steamboat in their retirement match. While Steamboat ultimately did not return for the July event, he would return to the ring for Big Time Wrestling in November.

On his “To Be the Man” podcast, Flair greets Steamboat, before admitting that he wants to wrestle again after watching Steamboat prepare for his return.

Flair said:

“I’m happy for him, I think it’s great. Steve Perkins (Big Time Wrestling Promoter) is a great promoter, so I wish everyone the best of luck whoever is involved. I don’t know the situation.”

“This is one of those deals where no one is ever going to be Ricky Steamboat, so they can look at him and enjoy the opportunity, because there will never be another Ricky Steamboat.

“On every level, he’s better than 50% of the people in the business today, and he wouldn’t be in the ring if he wasn’t. Will probably look better in comparison as he is always in good shape.

“Coming back makes me want to come back again, I went back to Lincoln and started training again, what else to do?”

Fellow WWE Hall of Famer Sean Waltman has provided an update on his wrestling future while teasing his WWE return.
