Beginning last night’s AEW Grand Slam edition of AEW “Rampage,” Darby Allin and Sting took on Buddy Matthews and House of Black’s Brody King in a brutal no-qualification match. Allyn and Sting busted open House of Black member Julia Hart fatally falls off the apron, And Allyn and King took a big hit off the stage.
Thankfully, everything seems fine. King took to Twitter To shed light on his back pain. Elin also took to Twitter To provide an update on his head wound. Allyn revealed in a photo that the wound required at least five staples, but added that it was “worth it.” King also provided an update on Hart, saying he “made it out safely” and thanking everyone for their concern. When Hart was knocked off the apron, his entire upper body went up instead of a table, causing his head to hit the concrete floor.
While the match will be remembered for its brutality, it will also be remembered for its surprising start, which propelled Hart to the table spot as the legendary Great Muta scored a run-in.
With his last match due early next year, Muta has returned to AEW to work with his longtime rival Sting. Instead of attacking Sting, Muta blows his mist into Matthew’s eye, which knocks him into Hart and sends him flying off the apron. Sting took advantage of this and won the match for his team.
