Update on when AEW will debut in the UK

Anything WWE can do, AEW can do a year later in a slightly smaller stadium.

AEW stars and management have teased for some time that the plan is for promotion to do a bigger show in the UK, and the location for the show has always been pretty much set in stone.

The family of AEW President Tony Khan also owns a Premier League football (soccer) team, Fulham FC, whose stadium currently can seat approximately 25,000 people.

writing in latest Wrestling Observer NewsletterDave Meltzer said there are still plans for AEW to tour the UK and perform a show at Fulham’s Craven Cottage Stadium in London.

Meltzer wrote:

It still looks like next summer for a UK debut at Fulham’s home, Craven Cottage.

Given how young the promotion is still, it’s not surprising that AEW hasn’t run shows outside of North America, but considering how successful WWE’s recent Clash at the Castle show was, it’s also surprising to hear. Not how eager AEW is to run a show. in the same market.
