A top AEW star has called Major League Wrestling a great breeding ground for up-and-coming talent.
Maxwell Jacob Friedman, also known as MJF, is widely regarded as the biggest domestic star in All Elite Wrestling since the promotion’s inception.
However, many fans are unaware that the 26-year-old got his start in the business on the independent scene and at MLW, where he was a featured star.
in that Recent Interview with Ariel Helwani on The MMA HourMJF discussed his time with MLW and called it a great breeding ground for talent.
“Bruce Prichard, I spoke several times in MLW. We met in MLW, we’ve been in touch ever since. Bruce is a great guy. Bruce, I love you. Great man, Brother Love. It’s a business, day of the day.” In the end, but you make friends along the way. There was Jim Cornett at MLW. I learned a lot from him in that short stint when I got the chance to talk to him. Conan was there, I learned a lot. Enough people about MLW I don’t talk. I think, it’s honestly, a great breeding ground for young and up-and-coming talent. When I was there, there were a lot of people coming in and out. Yes, they’re pretty fast There were coming in and out, but if you’re a student of sports like me, you chewed on their ear and you made sure you learned something.”
MJF left MLW in January 2020 and committed full-time to All Elite Wrestling after signing a short-term deal in 2019.
Bruce Pritchard has left Major League Wrestling and is currently the Executive Director of WWE Raw and SmackDown. Friedman has mentioned Pritchard on more than one occasion to tease his potential jump to WWE in January 2024.
