REPORT: AEW investigation not yet completed due to legal threats, one party does not want to cooperate

Wrestling News

Tony Khan has given a number of interviews this week and has declined to comment on the situation that unfolded between CM Punk, Ace Steel and The Elite last month. When asked if CM Punk was still with the company or if/when The Elite would return, Khan declined to comment on that question as well.

We may soon hear from one or all sides of the situation, as the investigation is expected to be completed shortly. Everything was talked about a few weeks ago, but there is reportedly a threat of legal action that will hold up the case.

Ryan Frederick reported on the wrestling observer Board: “There have been some delays in completing the study. It should be completed soon.”

Dave Meltzer later added: “One person has threatened legal action and refused to cooperate.”

No further details were provided and we don’t know who will return to TV once the investigation is over. Punk is injured and if he stays with the company, he probably won’t be back until next year.
