Former WWE star Matt Cardona believes WWE is now “exciting” after a management change earlier this year.
Following Vince McMahon’s departure in July, President Stephanie McMahon and President Nick Khan took over as co-CEOs of WWE. Triple H now oversees WWE Creative as the company’s Chief Content Officer.
Since Triple H took over as creative, several former WWE stars have returned to the company. Recently, Emma (Tennille Dashwood) made a surprise appearance on the October 28 edition of SmackDown responding to an open challenge from Ronda Rousey.
speak with sportskeedaMatt Cardona argued that WWE is now producing Must-See TV, noting:
“It’s definitely exciting, isn’t it? It seems like every week, or maybe not every week, but it looks like someone is coming back or debuting or debuting again. It’s refreshing, It’s exciting, it’s a must watch TV, and I think that’s what wrestling should be.”
After nearly 15 years with the company, Cardona was let go by WWE in April 2020. Addressing the rumors about a possible WWE return, Cardona said he would only consider a return if he didn’t have to bring his Zack Ryder character back:
“If I ever had to go back, it would have to be as Matt Cardona. Zack Ryder, this was what he was; I am so grateful for that race; it has prepared me for this race. Zack in WWE Without Ryder, I wouldn’t be Matt Cardona.
Cardona recently admitted that he still dreams of potentially becoming WWE Champion in the future, but added that he was not actively trying to return to WWE.
