A Halloween bug in Overwatch 2 causes unintended terror for players in the Blizzard FPS game. After the recent release of the game, the first major event is now underway. The Overwatch 2 Halloween Terror event offers a range of new and old skins for sale, returning modes, and a new Wrath of the Bride event touted as the sequel to Junkenstein’s Revenge. However, it also introduced a rather scary Easter egg into the game.

As usual, the Halloween Terror event comes with its own mysterious new title screen, featuring panning shots over the Adlersbrunn map and its castle, as well as a figure tied to a Frankenstein monster-style sofa with lightning zapped into his body. It wasn’t long before fans noticed that the game spawned a suspiciously ghostly Soldier: 76 model in the shadows.

Overwatch streamer and YouTuber Stylosa marked the figure, which appears to be in the standard ‘T-pose’ pose used as the basis for character models before being animated. While the pose has become something of a meme in its own right after numerous instances of it accidentally appearing in games — sparking a trend of people “T-posing to establish dominance” — it’s likely that this model, in fact, wasn’t supposed to be in the game. this scene should be visible.

Given that it’s in the dark, it’s pretty easy to miss – I didn’t see it myself until a friend pointed it out to me. However, its somewhat hidden nature only adds to its spookiness, not unlike those eerie images that were all the rage a few years ago that you stare at for a few minutes to discover what’s “wrong” to suddenly pop out. your skin to jump when your eyes catch a face that stares blankly at you. We’ve included a much brightened up version of the image below, which is still live in play at the time of writing.

It’s also not the first time this particular Overwatch 2 glitch has popped up – a Reddit thread not long after the game’s launch asked why there were “little guys on the Ilios loading screen”. Despite this latest addition most likely being unintentional, fans seem to be largely supportive of the new addition. “Soldier T-posing is the most terrifying thing to see in a dark corner,” says one commenter, “it fits the spooky theme.” Another notes, “It’s just the ‘Find the Psycho’ part of the event.”
