Following today’s (November 5) WWE Crown Jewel event, a new championship match has been made official for next week’s (November 11) episode of WWE SmackDown.
On last night’s episode of the show, the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos face The New Day, who currently hold the record for the longest WWE Tag Team Championship reign.
If The Usos still retain the championship after next week’s episode of SmackDown, then these records are ready to be broken.
The New Day defended their record by challenging the champions to a match on next week’s show, be it the Usos or the Brawling Brutes.
The Usos retained the championship at Crown Jewel against the Brawling Brutes, officially preparing them for another fight with The New Day for the undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship.
If New Day emerges victorious, his reign as champions from August 2015 to December 2016 will remain as the longest title reign in history.
The Usos’ reign of the SmackDown Tag Team Championship at Money in the Bank 2021 began when they defeated Rey and Dominic Mysterio.
WWE has now officially announced the match on social media.
Also for next week’s show is the first match between Shinsuke Nakamura and Santos Escobar.
Simultaneously with that match, WWE announced that the SmackDown World Cup would begin on next week’s show.
