Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord Leaves Early Access With Real Banners

It doesn’t feel like it’s been that long since the Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord Early Access phase kicked off, which left many of us who had been waiting for the medieval sandbox game for years as a complete surprise. However, that was over two years ago now and the ambitious sequel to TaleWorlds on Warband is ready for its ‘official’ release, perhaps thanks to the addition of real banners you can wear into battle.

That’s right: Bannerlord now has banners. They are items that your character or AI heroes can equip and take into battle, and they will provide various benefits to the formation associated with whoever is holding them. The components for banners, as well as the cloth banners themselves, can be created and modified, and if they fall, other troops can pick them up again to continue to inspire the rest of the formation.

TaleWorlds says that while Bannerlord 1.0 is out now, the studio is far from done with the game. The studio has several features in the works, such as allowing players to take over criminal enterprises, launching surprise attacks on besiegers to destroy their siege machines, and a new location for an aging leader to use for a ceremony. when handing over the reins to their heir.

TaleWorlds also says it has continued to improve its replay editor, which will likely be included in the mod tools the studio plans to release in the coming months.

The release plans on the TaleWorlds official site contain additional information. Check out our guide to Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord cheats to learn more about activating console commands and how to use them.
