Former WWE wrestler Leonard Inzitari has confirmed the rape of former referee Rita Chatterton against Vince McMahon.

In 1992 Chatterton came out publicly to accuse McMahon of raping her in 1986, although no charges were brought against McMahon because the statute of limitations had expired before his public allegation.

a new article from New York IntelligencerLeonard Inzitari, who wrestled as Mario Mancini for WWE from 1984 to 1991. In the article, Inzitaari confirmed Chatterton’s allegation, the first time a wrestler has done so:

“I remember it like yesterday, she was a wreck. She was trembling. She was crying.”

Inzitari’s further remarks, Chatterton recalled discussing the incident with him prior to the WWF Show in the summer of 1986.

Injitaari’s now coming forward was inspired by the current situation with McMahon. Several law firms are currently investigating WWE after the WWE Board of Directors launched an investigation into the ‘hush pact’ allegations against McMahon that you can read the details here.

Inzitari added:

“He’s dug himself so deep that I’m tired of him. I can’t do it anymore.

“I’ll tell you why I’m hopping on the bandwagon now. Worse yet.”

The Intelligencer article featured Chatterton’s comments on the situation around McMahon:

“He wouldn’t pay for what he did to me,” she says. But he is happy that allegations of hiding money are coming to the fore. “Now this girl has come forward,” Chatterton says of the paralegal, whose friend sent the initial emails to the WWE board, “and I’m sure others will come forward. Because we’re not the only two. My mind I have no doubt about it.”

Chatterton pauses and thinks for a second. She laughs a little.

“As far as wrestling is concerned, I think I’m first in a lot of things,” she says. “As far as I know, I’m the first to come across this whole issue with how badass he is.”

McMahon did not respond to the New York Intelligencer’s request for comment, made through WWE and McMahon’s attorney, Jerry McDevitt.

The article also includes more new comments from Chatterton on the matter and more details from Injitari. You can read the full article here this link,
