Erik of the Viking Raiders out of action with a leg injury

Viking Raiders’ Eric is out of action.

During Friday’s SmackDown main event, announcer Michael Cole mentioned that The Viking Raiders’ Eric suffered a leg injury from last month’s Viking Rules match in Detroit, Michigan. As a result, Cole announced that Eric would be out of action “indefinitely”.

The Viking Raiders won the Viking Rules match by defeating The New Day on the September 2 episode of SmackDown. The two teams were feuding in the weeks before their match, with the Raiders taking Xavier Woods out of action in the story at one point.

After several months off television, The Viking Raiders was relaunched on SmackDown back in June, now being referred to as the new, vicious Viking Raiders. The team began feuding with The New Day, culminating with a Viking Rules match, a falls count match anywhere with Viking Props. Ivar scored the victory for his team after putting Woods in the pile of the table.
