Carmella vs. Bianca Belair May not be very much on Money in the Bank bingo cards, but Corey Graves sees this as his wife’s moment to shine. On the latest episode of “After the Bell,” Graves talks with co-host Vic Joseph about the match, and Carmella’s reaction.
“That wasn’t the plan, right? The WWE Universe knows it. It’s no secret,” Graves said. “Everyone was waiting for Bianca and Rhea and Carmella said to me, ‘What am I going to do now? I have Bianca,’ she has competed against Bianca several times and I said, ‘You need to see this What is the need, this is indeed a golden opportunity. Not necessarily just talking about the ‘Raw’ Women’s Championship, I mean the placement on the card.
“Every ticket we sell says ‘card subject to change’, isn’t it? It’s part of business, injuries, circumstances change, Carmella now finds herself in a high-profile championship match .
The match was made official on “WWE Raw” last week when Carmella won a deadly five-way match between herself, Becky Lynch, Asuka, Liv Morgan and Alexa Bliss. Now he is on the fast track to a match with Belair in Las Vegas.
“I said, ‘You need to see what it is and go out there and crush it. Add some new wrinkles to your repertoire.’ Full disclosure, he and I are going to a ring in Pittsburgh later tonight to see what he’s capable of, maybe add some new moves, a few different things, get him quicker and on top of the game .
Graves expects Carmella to come out with a win, but even if she doesn’t, this title match in Las Vegas could be a good reminder for fans just how “money” Carmella can be.
“It’s an opportunity for everyone to go, ‘Hey, she didn’t win, but she’s really good,’ or ‘Oh, we forgot that Carmella could do that,'” Graves said. “The profile of this match-up is the most valuable part of the equation.”
