Conan informs of advice given to Dominic Mysterio

Dominic Mysterio has found himself as a heel in unfamiliar territory on WWE TV. Mysterio turned his back on his own father, Rey Mysterio, and Age at the Clash at the Castle in Cardiff, Wales. He has since been joined by Damien Priest, Finn Balor and Rhea Ripley in The Judgment Day.

Wrestling Inc. Speaking to senior news editor Nick Hausman, Konan spoke about the time he told Mysterio that his character took a long time.

“Well, I was telling Dom – I’m his godfather,” Conan said. “He didn’t decide to become a wrestler until very late in his life. He’s still a rookie. I thought he was going stale with Ray, and I was like, ‘Brother, you need to do something different. You’re getting stale. Carrying your father on your back. It kind of runs its course.'”

Conan later discusses advising Dominic to become a proper heel, which he believes paid off on last Monday’s episode of “Raw” when Dominic came to his knees and killed his father. Dare to kill with a steel chair.

“When he told his father last week he got down on his knees and he went, ‘Hit me,’ because he knew his father wasn’t going to kill him just for being cocky because Dominic isn’t like that, Conan said. “He’s a really nice, likeable, cool kid. I’m like, ‘Where did you get that?’ Because I told him I was going to do some things with him that he should do. I said, ‘You need to channel Eddy Eddie. You need to channel him. Channel the people you love’ Don’t. It will help you with your personality.'”
