Big comeback plans for AEW Dynamite ‘Grand Slam’?

Earlier this year, wrestling legend Paul Waite (formerly Big Show) teased fans that he might bring back his Captain Inhuman gimmick from the cult classic film, The Waterboy.

While nothing has come out of the teaser yet, it looks like Captain Inhuman may be making an appearance at tonight’s AEW Grand Slam, when Tony Khan tweeted the GIF below.

Speaking earlier this year, Paul Waite revealed that the costume has been made for Captain Inhuman’s appearance, and that “a lot” of preparatory work has gone into it.

“There’s already a dress made, a full nine yards. We’re doing a lot of preparatory work, and this will be my last hurray so to speak.

“To be honest – I don’t think this character is going to be an assassin trying to beat Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship. At this point in time, I think this character is just for fun. We’ll see how it turns out.” It’s going on, but right now it’s a chance for me to have fun with this character and be a bright spot in the show. We’ll see how I feel, and we’ll see how everyone takes it.”

With AEW moving to New York for tonight’s Grand Slam show from Arthur Ashe Stadium, could it be the right time for Captain Inhuman’s AEW debut?
