Malakai Black reportedly wasn’t the only AEW talent that WWE recently felt about a potential return to the company.

According to fighter selection, the likes of Dax Harwood, Cash Wheeler and Swarve Strickland were also approached by the Triple H-led WWE Talent Relations department. In addition to Black, all three of those wrestlers were featured prominently in Triple H’s version of “NXT” a few years earlier.

Fightful also confirmed a previous report from The Wrestling Observer which said that Black had indicated to contacts in WWE that “he wished he was still there.” Although Black is effectively done with AEW, he is not eligible to “compete for WWE for an extended period”, possibly due to a non-compete clause in the “conditional release” given to him by AEW. .
