AEW Golden Ticket Battle Royale Winner to Get World Title Shot in October

New AEW World Champion Jon Moxley’s first title defense will come in his hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio.

During an off-camera moment at the AEW Grand Slam on Wednesday, Tony Khan told the crowd that the winner of the Golden Ticket Battle Royale was taped for Friday’s rampage, a special live Tuesday edition of Dynamite set on October 18. I will get a chance.

That week’s show is being moved to a Tuesday due to TBS airing the Major League Baseball playoffs, meaning it will face that week’s WWE NXT face-off.

Moxley lifted the title to seal a new title with a win over Brian Danielson in the final of the Tournament of Champions on Wednesday.

The winner of the battle royal (spoiler here) will have a chance ahead of MJF, who also holds a title shot due to a Casino Ladder match win at All Out. It’s believed he’ll be cashing in on that chip at November’s Full Gear in Newark, New Jersey.
