A big announcement on tonight’s AEW Dynamite with implications for future anglers in both AEW and NJPW.

Tonight (September 14) on AEW Dynamite, AEW announced that the first AEW Dynamite of 2023, and the show running against NJPW’s Wrestle Kingdom 17, will be the Pacific Northwest debut of All Elite Wrestling.

AEW has yet to travel north to California and it will be the first show in the promotion of hometown favorites Sverva Strickland, Darby Allin, Brian Danielson and, of course, referee Aubrey Edwards.

Other popular AEW stars are featured in advertising for the show, to be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington.

There is still no sign of Kenny Omega, the Young Bucks or an allegedly injured CM Punk.

However, the ad featured MJF, Jade Cargill, FTR, Keith Lee. Britt Baker, Hangman Adam Page, Sting, Jon Moxley, Chris Jericho, Tony Storm and Claudio Castagnoli.

Notably, NJPW is hosting its Wrestle Kingdom 17 event at the Tokyo Dome on the same day…

While Tokyo is 16 hours ahead of Japan with a flight time of 9 hours back to Seattle… no one will be able to attend both shows, right?

Let us all begin now to reveal the first meeting between Darby Allin and Brian Danielson for the first week of 2023!
